Treatment of papillomas: means their removal

Papilloma on a woman's neck

Papillomas are benign neoplasms that are localized on the surface of the skin and mucous membranes, have the appearance of a papillary rash located on a thin "leg". This disease is related to the human papillomavirus. The resulting papillomas can be damaged, painful and cause external defects. In this case, a natural question arises about their removal. Below we will talk about medicines for removing papillomas.

Human papillomavirus is far from a harmless representative of the viral flora. It not only causes the formation of papillomas and warts, but this trigger sometimes leads to the formation of malignant neoplasms, namely cervical cancer. In 2019, scientists published a paper in which it was determined that the population has low awareness of the human papillomavirus, its transmission routes, consequences and prevention measures.

Local medicines

Use of local medicines to remove papillomas

First, let's look at drugs that are specially designed to remove papillomas. We emphasize that you should consult a specialist before using them.

The first drug is a liquid for external use, which contains two components - metacresol and phenol. It should be applied to damaged areas of skin or mucous membranes using a special stick, avoiding contact with adjacent skin areas. For small papillomas, as a rule, a single application is sufficient, in case of larger papillomas, repeated (3-4 times) application with an interval of several minutes may be necessary.

How does this medicine work? The components included in the solution cause coagulation of skin proteins, due to which the papillomas disappear.

Another commonly used preparation is a liquid made of sodium bicarbonate, sodium chloride, and sodium hydroxide. It also has a causative effect, which allows you to effectively remove not only papillomas, but also warts, genital warts, etc. Sh.

In addition, the solution contains:

  • nitric acid;
  • acetic acid
  • lactic acid
  • oxalic acid dihydrate;
  • Copper nitrate trihydrate.

It belongs to local necrotic agents, helps to destroy pathologically changed tissues. This product is also applied to the affected area. If necessary, the treatment is repeated several times.

Systemic therapy

Only local medicines are not enough to effectively fight papillomas. To prevent relapse, systemic therapy should be carried out, in particular, taking drugs that have antiviral and immunomodulatory effects.

An example is inosine acetoban dimepranol. This drug is active against the human papillomavirus, helps suppress it in the body and has an immunostimulating effect.

We emphasize once again that you should consult a specialist before using any medication.
